Mark Tyndall

    Dr. Mark Tyndall is a Canadian public health and infectious diseases physician. He is internationally recognized for his contributions to harm reduction and HIV prevention. He has held a number of academic leadership positions, most recently as the director of the BC Centre for Disease Control. He has authored over 250 scientific research articles and presented a TED talk on harm reduction (2017). Much of his research work and advocacy has focused on HIV prevention and care among people who use illegal drugs. More recently he has focused his advocacy efforts on the promotion of vaping and other safer nicotine products as a way to eliminate the deadly legacy of cigarettes.
