Liz Evans

Liz is the senior director of harm reduction at Liberation Programs. She is the founder and former executive director of the Portland Hotel Society, which launched Insite, North America’s first sanctioned safe consumption site, in Vancouver. Her other past roles have included executive director of New York Harm Reduction Educators and an Open Society Foundations fellowship. Her awards include the Red Ribbon Award from the Canadian Association for HIV Research and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Award for Community Service. She lives in New York City.
